Thanks for the video. Very helpful. But a couple of questions.
ReplyDelete* When you buy all the herbs you never went to the mailbox to retrieve them. Is that a step that you just omitted?
* Did the herbs automatically mill and convert to inks, or is that a step you skipped?
* I've never used APM so the comment "just like APM" doesn't help me. Where can I find a good set of instructions on how to set up this feature?
* When you showed the groups in your TSM window, you had glyphs, scrolls, etc. Do you have to maintain the same settings for all units in the group? Or does each individual item have its own setting? For example, my scroll Berserking would have a fallback of 550g but my scroll of Offhand Intellect needs a fallback of 125g.
* How accurate is the price per glyph? In your video you show DK glyphs. Chains of Ice says market value is 265g w/ a profit of 248g. Where does this data come from? How accurate is it? How can you identify trends? For example, if I know you are using TSM why can't I post a single glyph for 2,500g to skew the market rate? You then post at an inflated price while I sell at the right price--leaving you with no sales while I'm selling out.
I dislike the drudgery of scanning all the auctions and finding the 'sweet spots' for sales, but I find the fruit of that labor is a market price that I can rely on for accuracy. I'm wary of an automated tool that does it for me--especially when I don't know how the figures are calculated or maintained.
I'm warming up to APM but these questions remain unanswered in any guide or post I've seen so far.

ReplyDelete1. You still have to get the herbs you buy from the mail box. There's no way for anything you buy from the AH to get directly into your bags without going via the mailbox
2. You still have to mill and make inks - I use another addon (Panda) for this.
3. There's a PDF manual included in the addon download which labels all of the different functions. I started off using it, but found the addon to be fairly intuitive; many of the tooltips in the addon window include useful information
4. I believe the pricing system works similarly to Auctioneer etc. ie it averages the price of glyphs seen on the AH, so the more often you scan, the more accurate your results should be. I'm not sure if/how it deals with people deliberately inflating the market (I think other addons allow you to choose to ignore auctions from people who you have flagged)
I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be able to give you more information - I'm only a dabbler in auction PVP and still learning!
The thing that I miss from APM is the ability to scan and see how many of each glyph you have posted, which have been undercut, and which glyphs have zero auctions up at all when I am posting from my mule which is on a different account from my scribe character.

The post by Anon re see what is posted from another account...means I will stick with APM until it breaks. That feature alone is all I really use to know what to make.
